Rocket Fizz Soda Pop and Candy Shop Rocks Winter Park, FL

rockfizz8

A place where everyone feels like a kid. Where you jump from one generation to the next, having Fidel Castro and Snooki side by side as the kings of Rock’N’Roll watch on. It sounds far-fetched and the tastes stretch even further, over 1,000 different candies and 483 sodas from around the galaxy to be exact! Rocket Fizz has opened up shop across Rollins College on the famous Park Ave. in Winter Park, Fl to sweeten it up. An extension of a rapidly growing franchise which started in California, Central Florida now enjoys the happiness soda pop has brought for decades.

As soon as you venture inside you will be thwarted with how overwhelming the selection is. There’s just so much to see, so many strange flavors and random retro memorabilia showcased from corner to corner. My first experience at Rocket Fizz is how I’d imagine a spoiled only child on Christmas morning in front of their gifts, not knowing where to start but knowing that it’s going to be awesome. After a quick few laps around the shop to get my bearings in order I hone in on my mission, completing the perfect 6-pack.

Pick your poison from one of these custom deals:

$2.19 for a single

$7.99 for a 4-pack

$9.99 for a 6-pack

$18.99 for a 12-pack

$34.99 for a 24-pack

The 6-pack just seemed right. It took about 20 odd minutes to narrow it down but that’s half the fun. I wanted to keep my selection classy but innovative. Among all the over-the-top and unique flavors like Mud Pie, Apple Pie, Fidel Castro inspired Havana Banana, and Snooki’s own Wild Cherry, I broke it down to a few different cola based pops and some fruitier refreshers. Rocket Fizz caters their pops to anyone looking to try the weird or just return to the classics i.e. Pepsi, Crush, Coca-Cola or Jones Soda. No matter what you do, however long your selection process is, the sad truth is you can’t take the store home with you. I thoroughly enjoyed my selection, I was quite proud of it actually. But it’s instantly obvious that I will be returning to Rocket Fizz, going after what I left behind and grabbing my favorites again as I go along.

MY NEAR PERFECT 6-PACK CREW!

The one drawback, you can’t taste test. All the pops are bottled so that’s not going to pop off. But don’t sweat a thang, the staff here have tried more than you’ll be able to keep up with. Don’t be afraid to get their input or suggestions, they work there for a reason and will not disappoint, my final two picks were swapped out after the clerk easily swayed me into the best pop brands for what I was after. Rocket Fizz is brand new to Florida but these pop shops have been sprouting across the country like wildfire and for good reason, it makes people happy. Being in there brings friends and family together, getting them excited for something as simple as candy and soda pop. Mix that up with some Rock’N’Roll and it’s essentially Orlando’s next biggest attraction (except here you don’t pay for a ticket or parking). Follow Rocket Fizz-Winter Park is open 10 a.m-9 p.m. during the week, 10 a.m.-11 p.m. weekends and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sundays. Follow them here  and let us know your pop selections or any crazy ideas you may have for some pop, Rocket Fizz probably has them!
